MADD Ottawa
Welcome to MADD Ottawa Chapter. MADD Canada is a community organization with Chapters and Community Action Teams across the country. MADD Canada Chapters are run by volunteers and include not only mothers, but fathers, concerned citizens, experts, and business organizations that want to make a difference in the fight against drinking and driving. Our aim is to raise awareness about the dangers of impaired driving, offer support services to victims and their families and to save lives.
MADD Ottawa would like to thank our volunteers for helping us execute our message to stop impaired driving and support victims of this violent crime. Public awareness is critical in ensuring Ottawa's streets remain free of impaired drivers. Whether our volunteers are involved in education and public speaking engagements, fundraisers, or participating in a RIDE program, their efforts to stop impaired driving are appreciated. We are all truly victims, or potential victims, as impaired driving remains Canada's number one criminal cause of death.
Every day, on average, 4 Canadians are killed and 190 are injured in impairment-related crashes. We estimate between 1,350 and 1,600 people are killed and more than 68,500 are injured each year in Canada in impairment-related crashes.
